About
Modular Integrated Construction Laboratory (MiCLab), with its roots in the Department of Civil Engineering, The University of Hong Kong (HKU), was founded in 2020. Our Lab stands at the frontier edge of MiC focusing on the development and innovative application of digital twin (DT), structural and material solutions for smart MiC project delivery. We also provide services including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIR) to the industry, strategy and policy recommendations to government departments and training to professionals and students.

Professor Wei Pan awarded Medal of Honour 2025
The 2025 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) was held at the ballroom of the Government House on November 15. At the Ceremony, Professor Wei Pan of Department of Civil Engineering of The University of Hong Kong was awarded “Medal of Honour” (MH) by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR, Mr John Lee.

Professor Pan Wei's Team Awarded NSFC/RGC Joint Research Scheme 2025/26
Recently, the RGC has announced the results of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) / Research Grants Council (RGC) Joint Research Scheme 2025/26. The collaborative research project, entitled “Multivariate assessment, AI-supported prediction, and systematic reduction of lifecycle carbon emissions of the building stock of high-density cities”, led by Prof. Wei Pan from CICID HKU and Prof. Da Yan from Tsinghua University, has been awarded funding of HK$1,178,000 (Project Number: N_HKU764/25; NSFC Grant Number: 52561160148).
